Therapeutic Phlebotomy Position Statement
Developed by the NSCMLT Credentials Committee and approved by the NSCMLT Board of Directors, June 16, 2005.
The NSCMLT does not support a member performing therapeutic phlebotomy as the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) is unable to provide proper clinical assessment and intervention if adverse conditions were to occur with the patient.
