The role of the regulator is clearly defined by legislation established by the government to protect the public from harm and ensure ethical and competent practice. The Regulated Health Professions Act, the Regulated Health Professions General Regulations, the Medical Laboratory Science Regulations and Bylaws provide boundaries and are enforced by NSRMLS.
